🌺Hello, Ladies, and Happy July!!! This month, let's jump, run, lift weights, eat healthy, and just generally be good to ourselves with an open heart.
🌸 How is the summer going for you so far? Any bright spots to celebrate or any hurdles you've had to overcome?
🌺Do you have any July-specific goals or maybe a three month summer plan? Or are you just trying to make it through?
🌸Also, is there anything you'd like to share that you're grateful for? Things are still unsettled all over the world and sometimes it helps to remind ourselves, and others, about the things that we are still thankful for.

Weekly goals:
🌸Do an exercise video/strength train x4 a week
🌺 Record all food and stay under calorie limit
🌸 Get moving every day (even if it's just go walk around the block once for 5 minutes)
I have a trip planned for August 1st and, even though it will probably get cancelled, I am going to pretend that it's still 100% going to happen. So I want to push myself to get moving and start really exercising again. My goal this month is to lose two pounds a week.
I only lost three pounds last month (instead of my planned 7lbs), but it's better than gaining. I struggled with healthy eating and gave up on meal prep. Snacks abounded at work, but after this Wednesday, I'll be clearing out my stash at my desk.
It's my birthday month, so I'm allowing myself one day to go back to eating meat and I'm going to a fried chicken restaurant. Super excited. But I will have a healthy breakfast and a healthy lunch to make up for all the calories I will definitely be eating.
Things I'm grateful for: that my family is healthy and staying safe in the US, while I am not there to help/harangue them into doing so. I'm grateful that I have awesome coworkers who are also into getting healthy and are fabulous at being supportive and are super nonjudgmental. I'm also grateful that I have the ability to go out and exercise, when not everyone does. There's a lot to be thankful for, but those are top of my list at the moment.

Summer has been rough. It seems every month locked down I get less strict about weight loss. That changes this month.
I'm going to try out the Physiqonomics method of weight loss: progressive overload weight lifting, and 10k steps a day, little to no cardio. Because to be hot, I need weight lifting, so even though I don't like weight lifting, I do like being hot, so. And the idea of no high-intensity cardio appeals to me right now in this heat. We'll see how it goes. I can always change the plan if I can't stick to it.
I'm grateful for the ability to work from home. I don't take that for granted. And I'm very grateful for all of you, who have inspired me and held me accountable.

I've been stalled out for 6 weeks. I'm not even gonna bother with a weight goal. There seems to be no point.
But I am back to the gym at least for now, so I'll focus on some fitness goals, like getting back my lost strength and maybe actually doing a full pushup. I want to learn how to do pullups also.
I've gotta get my sugar intake down again too. I've been getting bad again. Pushing and eating too much candy. Sugar is not my friend, it really hurts my stomach.

I have fallen off the wagon so often I think I spend more time chasing the wagon down again instead of trusting the process. I'm moving at the beginning of September and I want my family to see a confident, strong woman who won't let anything stop her.
I am working on a low carb lifestyle without driving myself too crazy with restrictions. I will say I do love going to the gym so exercise has never been a problem for me.

This month I want to get stronger and I want to stay consistent with exercise. I feel utterly hopeless about losing weight. Sorry to start off like that but it's true. All the women in my family are very overweight. All the women in my family have been dieting their whole lives (and so have I - including not just diets but the "lifestyle changes"). It just doesn't seem to work in any long-term way for any of us except for the ones who had weight loss surgery. I'm about to turn 50 and I'm so, so tired of the struggle. The only thing that I feel like I have in my corner is that I actually really like working out and I'm super self-motivated, so I'm going to focus on getting stronger physically.
I just bought a set of rings and have been setting them up in the park to do beginners' workouts interspersed with slow jogs around the basketball courts. I'd like to be able to do four laps around the courts by the end of the month.
Things I'm grateful for: we just moved to the Hill Country in TX (from Atlanta) and although it's sooo different from the city, I'm really loving it. We're on 3 acres and some of my favorite things are: hanging my laundry on the line, watching the birds (there's a nest of little baby birds actually living in our old truck!), sitting outside and reading the New Yorker and eating frozen grapes while the deer come to visit, and being around my dad.

The Hill Country in TX is one of the most beautiful places in the country. This is from someone who is really a beach person and who lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. We lived in Austin when my husband went back to school in Civil Engineering so for a couple of years we lived on the edge of the Hill Country. Enjoy!4 -

My July Goals are:
1. Continue to get enough sleep and water intake
2. Continue to log weight, food and exercise and stay under calorie goal
5. Continue to make healthy meals at home
3. Get some exercise 5-6 days a week and up NEAT. Try to exceed 150 min. of exercise/ week and if my fitbit doesn’t irritate my skin get more steps each week.
4. Get into the 240s and lose an average of a pound a week at least.
I feel like a broken record. I lowered my lows and my highs last month but I didn’t make it into the 240s. I know how hard it was to make it into the 250s but somehow I didn’t expect it to be the same to get into the 240s. I feel like I could go back to work any week now and it will be a lot harder to exercise and to lose. Here I had a month to concentrate on it and barely lost anything. I should be able to lose 4 lbs in a month in a healthy way.
🌸I am thankful to @RavenSt.Cloud for this thread. I have lost more than 16 pounds when others are gaining the COVID 16 lbs. I am thankful to all the wonderful people on the thread that are so inspiring and supportive. I may be complaining about lack of progress last month but I didn’t gain and I got more exercise and ate healthy food.
I am thankful for my family’s health too. I am thankful my husband is still employed and I am so far still on temporary furlough and not laid off. I am thankful that I get to stay safely home with my wonderful husband and daughter and our 2 almost twin bonded pair kittens. I am thankful that my son and daughter-in-law are safely working at home especially since they live where the cases at a fast rate.17 -

There are lots of reasons to be hopeful. You can do this. Step one: tell yourself, as often as you need to until you believe it, that you are going to stay on track, that you are going to stick with it, that you will be successful in your fitness goals. Starting out is hard. But I can tell you that if you keep at it after a month it gets easier, and the month after, even easier. Just start small. Pick one or two things you can do today that you can commit to doing everyday. Then do it. And I would make one of those things logging your food. Logging your food is very effective. I look forward to watching your progress here.

Just wanted to say- 3.2 pound loss in a month is GREAT LOSS when you're at this weight. You're doing great.
I took a nice long walk while the sun hasn't come up yet, knocked out ~6k steps already. I'm working on my list of things I'm grateful for at the moment. And later, it will be lifting time. I'll incentivize myself with a new series on Netflix to watch during my rest times.

My July weight loss goals are centered around "getting back down to business". Moving has pretty much consumed my thinking for the last couple months, and the stress of it has stalled my weight loss entirely. But this week we are painting and doing some renovations, and hopefully we move on the 6th. Then as I unpack and put things away, I can also get a membership to the local YMCA, which has reopened, and start working out again. In terms of poundage, I just want to see where I wind up when the stress of moving finally abates and go from there.10

They did a fabulous job - sanitizing rides between every single run, frequently sanitizing benches / handrails / dining tables, ride operators enforcing mask rules, touchless food ordering / drink refills, etc. A small taste of (relative) normalcy was very welcome.
🌸 We’ll be spending most of the month house-sitting for a colleague in the area where we hope to purchase a home next spring, so the month ahead will be full of lessons-on-the-go (we homeschool), Open Houses, & getting to know our soon-to-be new home city.12 -

Happy July everyone! So happy to be in a new month. I am not setting a weight-loss goal for this month. We have a week of vacation coming up and I would rather focus on my non-scale goals, as I have lost ground on good habits.- Limit coffee - I found a low acid coffee and had switched over from tea. But I feel like the coffee puts me through energy highs and lows that are not great for me.
- Intermittent fasting/eat when I am hungry - still working on limiting treats and sweets at night.
- 128 oz of water - this one should be easy, right??? It feels so good when I do it.
- Resume exercise - I would like to get movement for at least 15 minutes 5 days a week. Work has been incredibly stressful and I need to reclaim some balance.

Logging every day for 30 days😁
Salads for lunch at work
Portable protein shake for 3pm munchies
Low sodium V8 Juice on the way home from work
Consistent dog walking at 6:30am for 15 minutes weekdays
Yard work—grass cutting/ weed whacking
Swimming— so grateful to have
Meal planning
By logging, I can see my triggers for mindless munching and replace them with better choices. Protein shake or v8 instead of potato chips.
I know that weight loss is not linear, and the scale is often fickle, so I’m just trying to enjoy the journey.
